Tips for Winter Preparedness

Make sure the foundation to house or mobile home is air tight and vents are closed.

Make sure you and your family know where the main water shut-off valve is located

Disconnect garden hoses and make sure sprinklers/irrigation systems are off and drained

Open cabinets and vanities to allow warmer air to flow to water pipes

If necessary, drip faucets (both hot and cold) when temperature drops below freezing

Check meter pit and lid for damage (securely on and no cracks/holes) - call us for repairs

Be certain heat tape is working properly and insulate pipes as needed

Lead Service Line Information Requested

If you have not yet completed our lead service line questionnaire, we are required to notify you that we had to report to DNR that your water service line is unknown.  Having an unknown service line requires the district to notify you about the hazards of a lead service line.  Please click here to see notification.  Unknown Service Line Notification
